223sqm of hybrid herringbone laid through a private home in beautiful Matcham on the Central Coast, whole-house, over a subfloor ground and levelled to herringbone tolerances from front door to back.
This home in Matcham belongs to one of the developers behind the Lovedale Farm project, so the brief was to bring that same premium herringbone look into their own house, at full scale. Australian Trade Floors laid 223sqm of hybrid herringbone throughout the entire home, contracted to us by the same team we'd worked with at Lovedale.
Running herringbone through a whole house is a different job to a single room. The pattern has to stay consistent across every space, hold its line through doorways and transitions, and sit dead flat over a much larger area, all while keeping to the builder's schedule.
We applied the same subfloor preparation that made the Lovedale display home work, planned diamond grinding to remove high spots followed by levelling cement to true the surface, carried across the entire footprint of the home so the pattern would run flat everywhere. Getting the base right across 223sqm is what lets herringbone stay consistent at this scale.
Over the prepared subfloor we installed Preference Floors Easi-Plank 8.5mm hybrid herringbone in Natural, the same product and colour as Lovedale, set out to carry cleanly through every room. The job was delivered inside the builder's scope and turnaround.
A consistent, premium herringbone floor running the full length of the home, delivered on the builder's timeline. Another job completed for the same team, and more proof that we can carry a demanding pattern across a whole house without dropping the standard.
